The Saint Pio Foundation is proud to present the “Adelia Award Ceremony”, which will take place at the Trinity Broadcasting Network Center, located at 111 E 15 Street, New York, NY 10003, on Thursday, April 2, at 6:00 p.m.
The "Adelia Award" takes its name from Adelia Maria McAlpin Pyle, who was one of the closest friends of Padre Pio. Adelia, or “Mary” as she was better known, converted to Catholicism and used her wealth to build a new church, a monastery, and a seminary in Pietrelcina. Today the Adelia Award is presented as a way of recognizing those who have supported the Saint Pio Foundation by serving on its Board of Trustees, advisory council, or advisory committees, and who have given their time and talents in an exemplary way.
Previous recipients of the Adelia Award were Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchrer, Father Pat Conroy, Chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives, Archbishop Samuel Aquila from the Archdiocese of Denver, and Actor and Singer Franc D'Ambrosio.
The Adelia Award on April 2nd will be bestowed on the acclaimed Actor Tony Lo Bianco (The French Connection, The Juror, Blood Brothers, City Heat, Nixon, The Seven Ups, Honeymoon Killers and Kill the Irishman), and Alyse Lo Bianco. Emcee: Rita Cosby, Emmy-Winning TV Host & Best Selling Author.
