After serving for four years in the corporate offices of New Rochelle, the Saint Pio Foundation accepted the invitation of the Pope Family to relocate its office within the Generoso Pope Foundation, starting on February 1, 2022.
Generoso Pope was made a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre in 1932, by Pope Pius XI. His Eminence Francis Cardinal Spellman appointed him to the Cardinals Committee on the Laity. Beginning in the mid-1920s, Generoso sponsored the celebration of Columbus Day. In 1944, he founded and served as President of the Columbus Citizens Committee, which organized the Columbus Day parades in New York City. The Pope Family follows on the founder’s footsteps, and their support to the Roman Catholic Church, and devotion to Padre Pio is remarkable.
Besides running our day-to-day operations from the new office, other great opportunities for collaboration will emerge, to benefit the faithful in our community and beyond. Specifically, one of such educational initiatives would be “Encountering Padre Pio”, consisting, largely, in hosting groups of guests and faithful interested in learning about Padre Pio. The program would include a documentary about the life of Padre Pio, a photo exhibition, since the Saint Pio Foundation is the only U.S. entity authorized to use authentic pictures of Padre Pio, and a presentation by a priest for each event, who will speak about the life of Padre Pio, and will celebrate a mass in honor of Padre Pio. More on this and other great projects will be listed on our events web page.
The foundation address is the following:
Saint Pio Foundation, 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe, NY, 10707
Please note that the office is open to visitors Monday to Friday, from 9:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., by appointment only. To make your appointment, please call (203) 416-1471
We are looking forward to seeing you in one of our upcoming events!
